Re: creditors
Collection agents are allowed to make one call to family members or neighbors for the purpose of location of the debtor however divulging any information such as that they are a creditor or collection agent is a violation of the FDCPA and is punnishable by up to 1,000.00 penalty paid to you as well as your attorney fees. Please feel free to check out my web site on the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) or my mini blog on Avvo.com or contact me for further information about your issues. 203.870.6700
