If a woman promises to marry me and I pay her debts off then I am dumped what legal avenues do I have?

The answer is not a simple one.

Connecticut abolished actions for "alienation of affections" and "breach of promises to marry." However, the "heart balm act" has some exceptions depending on the particular facts of the case.

It does not preclude actions for restitution for money transferred in reliance on various false or fraudulent representations, EXCEPT for promises to marry. This is what makes the answer a difficult one.
