Gambling Debts

In the State of Connecticut:

(1) Are debts incurred for the purpose of gambling

valid?

(2) If one stops payment on a check written to purchase casino chips, and then loses them, is he liable to repay?

I assume you're talking about gambling in a legal casino.

1) Yes.

2) Yes. (Stopping the check itself, when the check was used to

get chips (which you got!) would actually violate

a few laws, some criminal! Yes, you'd still have to

repay.)
