Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Connecticut

If I pay off a car loan and then they reverse the payment, do I still owe them?

They accepted my payment and sent me the original loan documents and the Certificate of Title. Then the day after they sent that out they went back and reversed the payment and said I owed them the balance. Is there anything I can do?
