Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Connecticut

I have been served a summons-what are my options?

I am working with a debt management consolidation program at this time to help resolve and get me out of debt. I am being harrassed by my creditors which I was told to just avoid them as much as possible while I am in the debt program but-now one of my creditors has sent me a summons to appear in cousrt next month and I am worried at to how the debt program is going to help me on this situation now. If I am told to appear in court-being in a debt management program to help my sistuation, will that help me in court at all or will the creditor win regardless of my hardship at this time? I started the program back in Nov. 2007 and I was told that the debt program will not start settleing with my creditors until enough money is saved up which could last until sometime 2009. I am in debt of roughly $43,000.00 with all credit cards combined-did I do the wrong thing by joining this program-now that I have been served to appear in court I am worried that things will get more out of hand for me and I cannot afford to go through court from creditors when I am already trying to get out of debt now. Please give me soem advise to assure me of a better outcome in all this some how. What other options should I look at from this point on?

With that much debt, you should definitely consider filing bankruptcy. You need a fresh start and that's what the bankruptcy law is designed to do. Call me for a free telephone consultation to discuss your options.
