Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Connecticut

Statue of Limitations on debt

In April of 2000 Household Finance sent a check to me without disclosing any form of interest rate of payback schecule, Now an attorney wrote me a letter in Feb stating I had until April 6, to make an offer to pay back the loan.. He never waited for a response by me but levied my bank account which at the time only had child support checks deposited in it. Did the statue of limitations run out and that is why he never waited until April to wait for my response or is he just a scank of an attorney. Need answer asap as I face him in court on monday the 30th Help

Re: Statue of Limitations on debt

You may have a claim under the FDCPA against the attorney. If the attorney violated the act you could be entitled to a $1,000.00 penalty with the creditor paying attorneys fees. Contact us immediately.
