Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut
1st time offender
My coworker was parked outside a suspected crack house, but never entered. The police showed up and searched her and her car, found her bowl w/remnants of pot in it. She's now been charged w/posession of a narcotic. Was the search legal? She's 19 and in school to be a nurse and can't with a felony on her record. Any chance a judge will dismiss the charges?

Re: 1st time offender
I would need more information. However, there are ways to challenge the search and seizure. In addition, there are programs in place for first time offenders. Simply put, she should seek the advice of an attorney.
