Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut

class D felony expungement

My son has a class D felony conviction for what was a simple prank but we had a terrible lawyer who didn't help him - he is now depressed over this and I need to know how to help him. He was a good student with a bright future but now has no desire to try as he feels he will never be perceived to be anything more than a felon

You may be able to apply for a pardon so as to have your son's record erased. There are certain requirements to obtaining this pardon and a process. If you need more help, you can email me at [email protected].

In Connecticut, a felony conviction can be erased through the pardon process. A person can not apply for a pardon until three years after the conviction, however, there is a limited pardon option for employment purposes only.
