Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut
Old felony conviction
To whom it may concern,
i was convicted of a felony seventeen
years ago and wanted to know if it would be possible for me ever
to be able to work for the federal government. My conviction was a
breaking and entering charge-my friend stole beer from a garage
and I was just outside-will this ruin me forever

Re: Old felony conviction
You may apply to the Board of Pardons at 925 White Plains Rd, Trumbull CT 06611 (203 261-0551) to request an application for a pardon. I don't know if you would be able to get a security clearance from the federal government, but, after such a long time, a pardon would most likely be granted, which would clear your record somewhat. The government agencies would still be able to get the information or require you to sign a waive so they could get it. That's the best I have to offer you as a solution. Tom Noonan
