gun permit

i was convicted of a felon in 2004. i was told after 5 years of my last conviction that the case will be annuled and my record cleared! is it possible that i can get a gun permit after my probation period os up?? or that will never happen?

A conviction, whether to a misdemeanor or a felony, never automatically goes off one's record. A person may, 5 years after the most recent felony conviction or 3 years after the most recent misdemeanor conviction, apply to have their criminal record erased. Even if it is erased, however, sometimes the Board of Pardons and Paroles will still ban that person of being able to obtain a pistol permit. Your first step would be to apply for a pardon.
