Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut

Important

Ok at age 16 i was arrested for larcen and i was

placed under youthful offender status, but then i

was arrested again for weapons in a motor vehicle

and the larceny charge was added on. The weapoms

charges are felonies according to ct state law

but i want to take up a career in public service

after i graduate high school , i am 17 now is there

any way to get a clean criminal record

The simple answer is no. But, you need an attorney to represent you, if you can't afford one you may be entitled to a puplic defender. You got on break by going as a youthful offender, which may disqualify you from requesting Accelerated Rehibilation (AR), which is very similar as to the obligations that are imposed during the period of probation. Usually, once you get youthful offinder you can't get AR. Exceptions are made. Either way , the police and the court system can get your prior history. The public cannot unless you give permission. My advice is to get an attorney to represent you and maybe you can get on AR. Thomas F. Noonan
