Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut

Miranda

What happens if a suspect's rights aren't read during arrest but he isn't questioned at all except for booking? Can police deny prescription medicine? When someone is arrested, do they have to be told they are arrested? After arrest, how long can police withold phonecall? How does someone go about overturning a conviction he believes he can prove? Can the DMV legally revoke a public transportation license (taxi driver) simply because of a ''question of character'' for a conviction absolutely not related to work?

Re: Miranda

First, your questions are extremely broad and therefore require long answers. However, as a general rule, when you are arrested, you are entitled to the reading of your rights. The failure to do this has certain consequences. As far as overturning a conviction, the answer would depend on whether you were convicted or plead guility. In one instance you have to file an appeal and the other you file a motion with the court. Again, the answers to your question are long.
