Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut
Petit Larceny
Recently I rented a furnished apartment for my son. After he moved out, he mistakingly took a few used items - 1 cooking pan, a toaster and lamp - with him thinking that those came from his parent's house. After a few days, after he talked to us and found out that some the items belonged to the landlord, he offered to return those items but the landlord refused to take and asking for money and threatening to file police report.
The landlord is calling this to be 'petit larceny'.
Is he right?
