Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut
Responsibility of person posting bail
Am I responsible if I post bail for someone that doesn't show up for his court date? That person is out of state and the bail bondsman has his address, but still are coming after me instead of getting him. Why wouldn't they go after him instead of me?

Re: Responsibility of person posting bail
Yes,you are liable. The bondeperson may just be taking the path of least resistance or may feel you will pressure the person to turn himself in.
