Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut
traffic accident - Evading
While my car was in the hands of body shop, someone supposedly used my car and left the seen of an accident. I have documentation and witnesses I was out of state. Can court hold me criminally responsible for leaving the seen of an accident, if I was not even informed of the accident properly? And if the damage was so insignificant they did not contact my insurance company even come after me for evading??

Have you been charged with a crime? Generally, if the state has evidence that you have committed a crime, they can charge you as necessary. However, if you have evidence to controvert the state's evidence, then you can put forth that evidence in defense. You do not provide enough specifics in order for me to give a legal opinion. If you want to email me at [email protected], I can guide you in the correct direction.
