Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut
''unlawful warrant''
to whom it may concern:
i received via mail a ''warrant'' for my arrest. i called the phone number listed and asked what was going on? fresno superior court informed me that i have a ''no jail bail'' that i must report to fresno county jail to serve 30 days; apparently i violated my probation by not signing up for ''adult offenders work program (a.o.w.p.}.
here my problem. on 09/19/2005 i was on calendar for fresno court. i attended i saw/spoke with the judge. also had an public defender. on my ''minute order''it is clearly stated that in liew of ''adult offenders work program'' i complete a 90-day instay treatment center. in other-words, i complete the 90 day program that cancells out the 30-day ''a.o.w.p.''
how do i clear this mess up?? what steps need i take to clear this matter up. the courts will not put me on calendar to see the judge. why, i dont know. that bothers me. i've been to the public defenders office and left an urgent notice to the specific public defender who handled my case. what do i do. as of right now, if i get pulled over the police are going to take me to jail. no questioned about it. please help me if you can, i would deeply appreciate any advice from you

Re: ''unlawful warrant''
The best way to resolve this is to go to the Fresno court, have the clerks bring the file to the courtroom and show the judge that minute order and proof that you completed the 90-day program in lieu of the AOWP. If you did not complete the 90-day program, then you have a problem. Otherwise, the Judge should dismiss you. Good luck.
