Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut
violation of probation?
I am on probation for violation of a protection order. I have been living with the victom for 9 months now. She called 911 on me and I left. To be there is a violation of probation for me. My being there was consentual and the police have not arrested me. My question is will they violate me? Also I'm thinking of leaving town a while would that violate me?

Re: violation of probation?
If the terms of your probation were that you were to have no contact with the victim, it doesn't really matter that she said it was okay. It's what the court says (through probation orders) that matters. So you've got a potential problem with probation. Everyone's probation terms are different and so check you paperwork, or your attorney or your probation officer regarding whether to leave town. You've got to notify them of address changes and many times there are geographic restrictions. I can't tell you what probation is going to do with you. That is up to them. It's different in every case.
