Legal Question in DUI Law in Connecticut
I was arrested for a DUI on the morning of Saturday, September 11, 2010. I learned that technically my license is not suspended until I receive notice from the Department of Motor Vehicles stating the start date of my suspension. I have not yet received a letter. I was curious to see how long this process takes on average. Also, I was curious to see if, for whatever reason, I never receive notification, my license will truly be suspended.
Thanks for your help!

Usually takes 10 days to 2 weeks for DMV to send you a letter. Unfortunately, you cant use lack of receipt of the letter as an excuse. As crazy or unfair as it sounds, the burden is on you to discover when your suspension takes effect.
