Legal Question in Elder Law in Connecticut
Guardianship for my brother was arranged for me by a lawyer in Florida. He had had a massive stroke and I am responsible for everything. However, I am now much older and find it a hardship to continue. I have asked about getting the guardianship rescinded, but does not seem to be interested. He is in a nursing home and I think I would like to turn over everything to the nursing home, rather than be a go between. I am also charged about $1200. annually for filing papers for the state of Florida. I am not unhappy with the service, but I do want to be free of the work. Any help?

You can file a request with the probate court in Florida asking to be removed and requesting that someone else be appointed his guardian.
