Legal Question in Elder Law in Connecticut
My mom is 85 and my 11 yr daughter & I live with her. My sister, trying to help out our mother, put her on title 19 for the medical benefits. In my mother's will it is stated that I am to get the house, but now I understand that because she is on title 19 there is a lien on the house and once she passes away we are going to have to pay off the lien. Is this true?
Thank you
Patty

Yes, it is probably true. You can call the state to find out how much the lien is at this point. If you want to pay for her medicals then you can probably take her off Title 19.
