Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

2 state custody

I had asked the question if my divorce was origionaly in Texas and I now live in Ct and have for over a year with my daughter whom I have sole custody of can her mother change the custody in court in Texas. A very kind attorney answered she could not it had to be done in Ct but she could lie to the court in Texas and do it there that way. My question now is is there any way to preemptively prevent her from lying to the court and filing for a change in custody while she has my daughter for visitation. Also what is the normal length of time the court in Ct will let a non custodial parent have visitation with a 3 year old and if I go back to court to try to get a few short visits instead of the 42 days she is supposed to get my daughter is it possible for the court to order me to move back to Texas. I have made a good life in Ct but I am very worried for my daughter being gone 42 days at her age especially since her mother has not even tried to visit her for the past 14 months so my daughter hardly knows her. Now all the sudden my ex wants her for the 42 days and is threatening to file to change custody while she has her. I know I rambling. I'm sorry. I just scared.

Thank you,

John

Re: 2 state custody

You should register the Texas judgment here in the Connecticut court, then file a motion in the CT court to modify the visitation.
