Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

I'm 13 years of age, and my mother currently has sole custody of my sister (age 11) and I after a divorce in 2005. I am VERY unhappy living with my mom, and have expressed that I want to go live with my dad, but she won't allow it. By CONNECTICUT law, am I "old enough," I suppose you could say, to make the decision myself? [My father agrees, and is willing to let me come live with him]

Wow, that's pretty good typing for a 13 year old. Are you sure your father didn't help you write that?

Nevertheless, I don't know why your mother was awarded sole custody, as opposed to your father getting joint legal custody, so I don't have all the facts.

There is no certain age that a child can decide to live with a particular parent, however, a 13 year old would have some input. It would depend on all the circumstances. Why don't you ask your dad to call a lawyer and get more information.
