Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

I called a divorce lawyer on the recommendation of a friend. When I asked if he could see me , he said to come down to the office. I assumed it was a free consultation as he did not mention on the phone there was a fee, so I never asked. I just got a bill from him for $363. $350 for his hour of service plus $163 for his paralegal. Am I obligated to pay this. I did not get back to him after the consult as I was unsure about him. I left his office with some papers about divorce and his contract for his retainer fees and such but did not sign anything and said I would get back to him.

I do not believe you should have to pay the consultation fee if you were not informed of it prior to the consultation.
