Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Changes in Child Support

When Child Support was calculated the mother did not work and the father made more money than now. Can he go back and have that recalculated? Also the mother does not really have a job and she is able to work. How does the court consider her income? Is there a certain formula for this calculation?

Re: Changes in Child Support

In Okla, child support is calculated pursuant to the Okla Child Support Guidlines. If there has been a material change of circumstances(change in either parent's income, change in the needs of the child) then the child support order may be modified.

If a parent who is able does not work, the court can impute income to that parent for purposes of calculating child support.

There is a formula for calculating child support. It is based on the gross monthly income of each parent and the number of children.
