Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Child Support Modification

Lowering Child Support: If I was on workers comp. then lost my job because I have a 25% loss of my dominant shoulder and now I am technically unemployed and no longer collecting works comp but did receive the permanent 25% disability loss check for $28,000 but again state I have no job or no weekly checks coming in - shouldn't I be able to lower child support payments and not raise them because I am trying but have not found a new career yet.
