child support in more than one state
How do I get a fair assessment of a child support payment if I have children in Connecticut and South Carolina? I am a Union worker and travel from state to state; therefore my salary varies from location to location.

Your salary would probably be averaged for the year based on your employment history with the various places you work. In South Carolina, child support is based upon your average monthly gross income and the other parent's average monthly gross income. A chart is used to get a figure and the amount of gross child support is pro-rated. If you are already paying child support through another court order, then that amount is factored into the calculation. I'm not sure what they do in Connecticut, and I am not licensed there, so you would need to contact an attorney in that state.
