Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

divorce attorney

My brother lives in CT and his

estranged wife lives in the Dallas

area. My brother received an email

from someone who signed his name

as a divorce attorney for the wife,

and it asked for some somewhat

sensitive personal info like last four

SS digits and place of birth. It

doesn't seem prudent to give this out

to a person whom we haven't met,

or spoken to. How can he confirm

the author of the email is a lawyer

representing the wife?

If the email contained a phone number then make a phone call and check it out. If not, I would ignore it.
