Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

I went through divorce in CT six years ago and required to pay child support and 40% of any medical and child care, since then my income has decreased by about 10% now I am having trouble feeding myself and my kids when I have them. I know I can file for a reduction but what can I expect and should it be enough to make it worth it or am I just out of luck. Currently I am bringing home just under $250 a week and just can't afford to live let alone pay medical bills that just keep racking up. I need help and can't afford a lawyer.

To get a modification, one generally needs to show a "substantial change in circumstances", which is usuall defined as a 15% up or down change in income (for either party).
