Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

divorce hearing rescheduled on me

My divorce has been going on for almost a year. We have no children and no assets together. I basically left her everything for the opportunity to just walk away and restart my life. We are near the end. We went on 5/7/09 to mediation. a lump sum settlement offer was put on the table. I have been waiting since then for a yes or no. The court set a date to bring us back in 7/2/09. She counter offered a higher amount and I counter offered lower. I have been waiting again for a yes or no. I heard from my attorney today that hers called to tell us that he reschedule the date to 7/22 since he had a scheduling conflict. I truly feel it's a stall tactic as this has been the pattern for quite some time. My question is can they go and change the date without my, or my attorney's, consent? now I have to wait another month.

Re: divorce hearing rescheduled on me

My guess is that your attorney agreed to it. That's how it works.

Why aren't you asking him/her this question?
