if my husband files for divorce in CT AND I HAVE THE CHILD am i oblegated to stay in same state or can I move out of state while the divorce proceeding

No one can force you to live in the state, however if you move too far and make it impossible for the father to see the child the court will consider your action in deciding custody. If there is a tremendous opportunity that is available to you in another place, the court may let you go without holding it against you. Your attorney should make a motion to the court requesting permission for you to move and to take your child with you for the best interest of the child.

If you are not represented by an attorney, you ought to be. If you need one and don't know any, call the local and state bar associations for a referral or call a local law school to see if a clinical program at the school would take on your case.
