Divorce
I live in CT and want to get a divorce from my husband of 23 years. I do not have a job and have been a homemaker. If I get a job now will that hurt or reduce the amount of alimoney he has to pay me?

The answer is not a simple one. It would all depend on how much he earns, your earning ability, skills, education and health (to name a few) and whether he is earning his capacity.Whether you have any children is also relevant. You may want to consult a family attorney to discuss.
