Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

My ex-husband and I share joint custody. They live with him because I didn't want them traumatized by a lengthy divorce trial. So I need to know...Because I occassionanly (more or less depending on the what rule-breaking took place) have let a punishment from him slide when they are with me..Can he refuse to let me have them during my court assigned visitation because of this...?
