Failure To Return Posessions
i stayed with my aunt for 6 days had just bought a bedroom set off someone i know the day i moved in. well to make things short there were some disagreements in the household and i left. well now she is refuseing to give me my stuff unless i pay her $200 and is saying she is charging $10 a day until i get my stuff but is refusing still to give it back. can i call the police to escort me to pick it up? i do have a written reciept from the person i got the stuff from and everything else in that room.

Regardless of which state the aunt is in, I would send her a certified letter telling her what day you will be arriving to pick up your things. Go with a truck, stable help, and a calming witness -- preferably a paid and duly appointed constable or "peace officer (I don't know whether there are such things in CT) -- and be prepared to call the police THROUGH the constable. You should also alert the police in advance of this plan through a copy of your letter.
Yes, this is costly advice. Surprisingly enough, it will cost you perhaps $200.00 for the presence of a peace officer.
Your other option is to [pay her the $200 under protest, and sue her in small claims afterwards to recover it.

From your description, this sounds like theft. You can file a criminal complaint with the police or with the local court, and/or file a civil complaint.
You have not stated the reasons for her conduct.
