Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

falsely accused restaint order

I walked in on my girlfriend of 3 years and found her with her ex boyfriend. We argued and shouted but did not get physical. I left her apartment and headed home and 10 minutes later was pulled over by the police and arrested for disorderly conduct and was given a restraining order. The 2 of them had made up a story that I was physical. I had to post bail and show up at the courthouse. I was told they usually plea bargain and go through a program like anger managment. I have been reading that this charge stays with you for life. My court date is in a month. This has rruined my life! Question:Can I get to see the police report and statement before the court date and should I get a lawyer - or is it futile?

You definitely need an attorney.Your attorney will be permitted to see the police reports;you will not. Also, the attorney will ,always get a better deal. Dennis P. McDonough
