I received a letter from my ex-wife's attorney asking for me to provide my W2 to her. Doesn't she need to file a modification order to the standing child support order to get this?

Unless your divorce decree states otherwise, then I agree that she needs to actually file a motion to modify to obtain any discovery/documents from you post-judgment.
