Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut
my husband and i are separated, and he is considering filing for bankruptcy. will this effect me in any way? should he file for divorce first? or does it matter which one he does first?

I don't know the details of your financial circumstances so I can not say how it may effect you. However, if the bankruptcy is pending while your divorce is pending, then the family court does not have jurisdiction to divide the assets until the bankruptcy is completed.
If he discharges any of your joint debts in bankruptcy, you can be responsible to the creditor unless you file bankruptcy as well.
