Joint custody. One parent sends child out of state..

Are there any laws when the parents have joint custody and only one has decided to allow a 3 year old child to travel outside state lines for over 2 weeks??? And the other parent has not been consulterd and does not agree?

Typically these types of issues are explained in the original order. That is, the order awarding joint custody. If the order doesn't address this, then one way to solve the issue would be to petition the court for a modification.
