Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

I have Joint Custody and Primary Residence with my 15 and 12 year old son's, i have concerns with my ex husband being an alcoholic who just got a DUI and i also found a suicide note in his writing he left in a dresser he was storing in our garage, he has admitted to me he did try to kill himself, and i also have saved in voice mail his current girlfriend stating her son walked in the garage as he was trying to asfixiate himself and stopped the attempt, i have talked to Family Relations and showed them the letter and they say he is unstable, should i go for full custody?
