Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut
My ex and i have joint custody of our two son's, my ex has a drinking problem and i am worried for out two son's, i have it brought up to family relations many times during our two plus year divorce battle in court,it seems all that matters is the money part, who is responsible for mortgage payments, bills, etc. not the welfare of my children, his girlfriend admits he drives them drunk(have text's) and he has been on a drinking binge all week and hasn't gone to work and she interfers constantly with parenting time and support money, i can't even reach my ex to talk to him, she took his cell phone and my youngest son smelled alcohol on him as he almost hit a street sign with them in the car, his live-in girlfriend also drinks. Is there some kind of pro-bono attorney's in CT. that can help me? i have no money,or money for a GAL,i can't even pay by bills, rent. I had an attorney but now that the divorce is over i feel he doesn't want to help and correct some problems that i think is his fault and he left undone,i just trusted he new what he was doing and our divorce agreement wasn't written up correctly and DSS stopped support on me with no notice going by the agreement, my old attorney blames DSS for not reading it right, DSS blames my attorney and said to me "who in the world wrote this up"? they say the agreement is confusing, i have gone two months without help from my ex as DSS sent another automatic deduction to the military, who takes their sweet time and top top it off i am suppose to get half my ex's pension, i paid the $700 for the QDRO and now i get a letter from the pension attorney that my attorney didn't specify me as the surviving beneficiary and unless judgement is amended i will not get it and they never received my ex's signature as my old attorney said he would sent out months ago,i made sure last court visit that my ex he signed it and did,i asked my attorney a few times if he can please mail it in and still hasn't, i am just really frustrated and feel my old attorney dropped the ball on me and i have no idea how to fix this. I thought about filing contempt but my ex's attorney takes advantage if i represent myself and turns everything around.
