Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Not married. Am I entitled to anything?

I have been living with the father of my 2 children (12 and 9 yrs old) for 17 years, but never married. His name is the only one on the house and we are separating. I don't know if there is common law anymore and if so, I don't think in Connecticut. Am I entitled to any money other than child support? I have been working the entire time contributing to the mortgage and all the bills.

Re: Not married. Am I entitled to anything?

You would be unable to recover any equitable interest--as a divorcing couple would--unless you can establish a contract that you would be compensated for your efforts. As this is strictly fact based--and difficult to establish--I suggest that you meet with an attorney directly to review whether your situation could be raised to this level.
