Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Pre-nup. during marriage?

I've been married 4 years. Looking into purchasing a 3 family home that will be in my name only. The marriage is not that great so I wanted to know if there is a way to set something like a prenuptial while married? She says she would not want anything to do with a multi-family so I think she would be willing. Or should I start setting $ aside for a buyout?

Actually, it is called a post-nuptial. It is an agreement made during marriage. However, prenuptial and post-nuptials have to be worded correctly otherwise they may not be enforceable. You really should have a family law attorney prepare it. Without a post-nuptial, the 3 family home would be considered a marital asset and she could make claim to it in a dissolution proceeding.
