If I pressed charges on someone for domestic violence and did not want to keep going with the trial how can i dispose the case

You don't. The state can run with the matter and you have no control or power to stop it, nor should you. The concept in effect here is to question whether you were coerced bribed or intimidated into withdrawing. Next time consider whether calling the police is truly a fair use of municipal resources or whether it may just be a power play that will backfire when you put behind bars the sole supporter of your family. I am not saying that this is your situation, sImply that it is a situation lawyers commonly see. You can make the states case more difficult to prove by refusing to testify.
