Re: public school officials

The school cannot gain entry to your home for purposes of investigating your child's absences from school. You are able to tell them to leave. However, school's typically raise a red flag where a child misses a certain number of days. Typically this does involve having social services investigate to make sure the parent is neglecting his/her duty to send the child to school. Since you apparently have a medical reason for the absences, you should certainly present this fact to social services for an end to the investigation. I would also advise consulting local counsel on this issue, so that all factors relating to the investigation and your particular facts are more fully reviewed.
