Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

QPRT in divorce matter

My wife purchased our house in her name with an inheritance and her father's help in 1994, then transferred it into a QPRT for the benefit of our two children when we started having marital problems a few years back. Her dad's attorney is the trustee. We are now getting divorced. I have paid all the real estate taxes and many other improvements for the home (all bills, maintenance, etc.). Do I have any grounds to claim a piece of the house under these circumstances? If she has retained the right to live in the house (with me), is that a marital asset subject to division upon divorce? I am still living in the house pending the divorce settlement.

Re: QPRT in divorce matter

You're prety much SOL. You paid the expenses on the house, but you got the benefit of living there. If you paid for a $70,000 new kitchen, you have a shot at getting reimbursed for half of it, but not much else.
