Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

I am representing myself in my divorce. My soon to be X and I, pretty much agree on everything other than the house. He has an attorney, and they are trying to get me to sign my rights over on the house, which I won't do, I need advice as to how to approach the situation. I am the one who left the home, and he is still living there with 3 of our 4 children. Am I entitled to 1/2 of the value of the home?

I can't tell you if you are entitled to one-half the value of the home because I do not have enough information. If you owned the home during the entire marriage and you helped contribute to the home is some way whether it be financial, homemaking or maintenance/remodeling, then most likely you are entitled to a portion and maybe half.

Another important question is whether there is any equity in the house. These days there are so many homeowners who have no equity due to the flat real estate market, that it may not be worth fighting over a home with no value.
