Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Is this my responsibility?

My wife has primary care of are 2 boys. While in her care and at her house the boys got arrested for trespassing. I was not aware of this until a few weeks later. Now she is demanding I pay half the lawyer cost $1500 and half the fine they received $370. Is this my responsibility?

First of all, I'm not clear on what stage of the divorce proceeding is pending. Are there orders in place regarding the children's expenses?

If there are no orders in place, or there are no orders in place that may address this sort of thing, then she would have to file a motion and request the court to order you to pay half.

You probably should speak to the children's attorney and find out exactly what the criminal court orders say.
