reverting back to maiden name after divorce

In Ct., I have been div. for 13 years, I want to revert to my maiden name now that the kids are older...why do I have to serve my ''ex'' by Marshall witht the modification papers..why can't I just give them to him personally, as we get along ok???

If you ex is willing to show up for court and "waive" service, the court will probably entertain your motion. Otherwise you could petition for a name change in your local probate court. I believe they will just mail the paperwork to him.
