Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

What are the rights of Guardians as opposed to the parent

I willingly gave my parents guardianship of my child when I was 15. My child lives with me and we all have an excellent relationship. The older I get the more I wonder what are the rights of the guardian as opposed to the living parent. I have always made all the decisions but if my parents wanted to could they ''make the calls''. Do they or I have the right to make legal decisions for the child, sign documents, etc...

Thank you

Were your parents made guardians in probate court?

Although I would have to review the guardianship decree, you can petition the probate court that they be removed as guardians since it is no longer needed. As long as you are a fit parent, your rights are greater than a guardian, because you are the biological parent. However, you need to have them removed to get back those rights.
