Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut
My sister (in CT) is involved in a divorce. Her husband has a TRO but it is based on false claims of abuse which will be proved when she goes to court on that matter. My question involves what I have read on the restraining order. It states "Even if the other party contacts you, you may be subject to arrest for violating the protection order." WHAT!?!?
Several times over the last few days he has gone to her residence. When she asked him to leave saying he was violating the order he said "I can go wherever I want and do whatever I want." HOW can she be held in violation of an order if HE is the one going to her property? When she saw him there (with their son, but nevertheless on her property which is still jointly owned although he lives elsewhere) she did not go home.

She needs to speak to an attorney and then speak to the local police and inform them about what he is doing.
