Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

sole parental custody

Can someone tell me the difference between sole parental custody and sole legal custody if there is any. I have sole parental custody of my child with the other parent having no contact what so ever.

Re: sole parental custody

There's no such thing as "sole parental custody". There are 2 concepts: legal custody and residence. You can have sole legal custody or joint legal custody. If you have sole legal custody, you and you alone, make the decisions for the child. The other parent may or may not have visitation rights or rights to be informed of education, health matters, etc., but you get to make the decisions. As to residence, it is usually primary residence with one parent or the other; but it could be shared residence. That's where each parent has the child for more or less an equal time with the other parent.
